AMJ is also working with me to create the Veteran Telehealth Foundation to provide a mechanism to support underserved Veterans who may be struggling financially and are in desperate need of care. Many Veterans don't qualify for Veterans Administration (VA) health care due to qualification factors, and all Veterans desire acquire health care for their family members after they leave service. Some are able to access Tricare, depending on the duration of their military service, while only a very few Veteran family members can receive VA health care as dependents are permitted in the VA system only under special circumstances. AMJ Griffon Veteran Telehealth will give Veterans and their families access to routine and urgent care, pharmacy, and prescription, and very importantly in our Veteran community, mental health care. Dr. Malone has made these services available at a sustainable cost for all. This will allow Veterans to have a low-cost option for care of themselves and their families to either supplement the health care they already receive or fill in an important element of primary care. I spent over 40 years on active duty and closed out my career serving as the Director of the Wounded Warrior Care Program for the Special Operations community. Operation Fortitude At The 2021 New York City Veterans Week Celebration In Times Square
NEW YORK CITY, NY - November 4, 2021- AMJ GLOBAL Project Love is Proud to announce today that it will be joining Operation Fortitude, WE THE PEOPLE, Wahoo, ROLL Bikes, T-Mobile, Griffon Holdings, Headstrong, ProVet USA, Griffon Health, Dignity Foundation and others for the benefit of NYC veterans charities at the 2021 New York City Veterans Week. The celebration will be held in Times Square between 43rd and 44th street on November 10th and 11th from 10:00 am-9:00 pm.
Veterans Week events promote the issues facing our Veterans and their families and provide them with the resources to transition and succeed in the civilian world. The NYC Veterans Day Parade will be the centerpiece of this annual citywide initiative which encompasses the efforts of a wide range of partner organizations and corporations.
Two to four minute competitions will be held with the local
public using six Wahoo & ROLL stationary bikes -- with
the computerized course and races displayed prominently
on bike screens and/or Times Square billboards -- as well
as between celebrities, local media and members of our
armed forces, including NYC Department of Veterans
Services Commissioner James Hendon.
All NY sports teams and many local news and media celebrities have been contacted through the help of WABC-TV, who will be televising the Veterans Day Parade.
In addition, an expected crowd of over 350,000 people will witness the event which steps off at around 12 pm from 25th Street and Fifth Avenue, proceeding north, up Fifth Avenue.
This year’s Grand Marshal is U.S. Air Force veteran and local hero Kevin Carrick. A retired Senior Master Sergeant, Kevin served over two decades as an elite Pararescueman (“PJ”) with the 106th Rescue Wing based in nearby Westhampton (Long Island), NY.
There will be a Press Conference Between 2-4pm held by NYC Department of Veterans Services Commissioner James Hendon in between 43rd & 44th Street on the North Side.
